You and Me and everyone
Garvald Edinburgh invites you to the preview of You and Me and Everyone
You and Me and Everyone is an exhibition of portraiture exploring identity, representation and connection through the artwork of learning-disabled, autistic and neurodiverse artists.
Working across drawing, painting, photography, and stitched textiles, the artists explore portraiture as a form of self-expression and recognition. Each artist draws inspiration from the human figure in a unique way, resulting in a diverse collection of work that reflects personal perspectives on visibility, perception, and connection.
You and Me and Everyone offers a space where the artists creative voices contribute to a wider conversation about how we meet and see each other.
Preview: Friday 30th May 6 - 8 pm.
Relaxed launch: Sunday 1st June 1 - 4 pm

(Access: The main entrance to Summerhall has 9 stone steps with no railing. Step-free access is via the side entrance on Summerhall Square. There is a ramp directly ahead across the courtyard that leads to the main building. Taxi/Cars Vehicles can drop off directly in the courtyard (using the vehicle gate on Summerhall Square & announcing arrival using the intercom system). There is no onsite public parking within Summerhall. Blue badge holders can park on Summerall Square. Bus South Clerk Street, 5 minute walk behind Summerhall, is served by the following buses: 3, 5, 7, 8, 29, 30, 31, 33, 37, 47, 49).
There is a satellite exhibition by Grant Abrahams of his Robot Faces at our Garvald Makers Shop in Morningside running through to 31st July.

Angela Ramsey at Garvald Makers
Currently on show in our Garvald Makers Shop until the 27th March is a solo exhibition by Angela Ramsay. Angela presents a beautiful series of gel plate prints inspired by her favourite theme of houses. Angela works in the Art and Print studio in Mayfield house and is a prolific artist compelled to create work around containment and the idea of home. Exploring her familiar repeat imagery of a stylised house using gel plate print Angela has created this distinct collection of work. Angela has developed her printing technique to build on her intuitive repetitive processes, layering house upon house to build artworks which have a complex depth and warmth. Angela’s bright and bold House collection are available to view and for sale until the 27th March at Garvald Makers.

We invite you to join us at Edinburgh Art Fair where we will showcase the dynamic work of 4 emerging artists, Grant Abrahams, Jordan Aitchison, Fiona Rintoul and Steven Smith. We will also be share a wider collection of work for sale by additional Garvald Artists and have some lovely artists films.
Each ticket allows access for two people.

Garvald Artists at the RSA
6 Garvald Artists have been selected as part of the Royal Scottish Academy 198th Annual Open Exhibition. Works by Grant Abrahams, John Aitken, John Black, Alison Edward and Fiona Rintoul are to be hung in the Galleries. Alice Wilson will be in the online exhibition alongside the other artists.

Garvald Artists at Edinburgh Art Fair
The Edinburgh Art fair are supporting Garvald Artists as a Charity Partner in 2023. The Opening Preview is on Thursday 16th November and event runs 17-19th November. https://www.artedinburgh.com/.
We are showcasing the work of Alice Wilson, Annie Gutteridge, Louise Robertson and Stuart Robertson. We will have a range of work available from all the Garvald artists.

Garvald Edinburgh AGM
The Annual General Meeting of Garvald Edinburgh will take place at 454/1 Gorgie Road on Thursday 9th November, from 4.30 to 5.00 pm
The Board will update on the annual accounts and present the Directors report for the period April 2022 to March 2023.
There is no requirement to advise if you wish to attend in advance.
Opening of Garvald Makers
After many years of trading, we have now closed our shop, the Mulberry Bush on Morningside Road.
We are delighted to announce that Garvald Edinburgh’s new shop “Garvald makers” will open for business on Wednesday 25th October from 9.30am. The shop will also stay open until 8.00pm on Thursday the 26th. Opening hours will then be Monday to Saturday 9.30 am to 5.00 pm.
The shop is at 356 Morningside Road Edinburgh down towards the bottom of Morningside Rd (next door to Sainsbury Local)
