People with a range of different abilities and disabilities come to Garvald Edinburgh to develop their skills in a warm, supportive, creative environment.
The opportunities we provide can make a major impact in helping people to gain confidence. We tailor the support and activity to the individual and encourage independence.
Currently we are working to the guidance from the Scottish Government that Day services should be suspended to maximise social distancing so that people who can stay at home are doing this.
However, we recognise that for some people, and some situations, this represents an unsustainable position because of the existing home situation and or ability of other care providers to sustain ongoing staffing, as their own staff need to isolate with symptoms.
We are there for aiming to maintain what we feel is the most sustainable way forward for now and are:
We are mindful that the situation for families and support agencies may change over time and would urge you to contact us on email@example.com or 0131 228 3712 (Mon – Fri) if you feel your support situation has changed or is no longer sustainable. Alternatively you can call Social Care direct. The numbers will be on relevant council website or via Edinburgh SW 0131 200 2324
We know everyone is missing being together and we want to get back together as soon as we can but for now we must keep the day services closed and stay safe.
Garvald Edinburgh is very much part of the wider community and we continue to build relationships locally and internationally.
