Celebrating Spring at Waterside Workshops
Last week, Waterside Workshops opened their doors to the local community in celebration of Spring. In the Land Group, visitors had the chance to try a variety of fun activities, including a beautifully illustrated garden-themed bingo, a garden gnome hunt (with homemade gnomes and handcrafted gold medals to take home!) a quiz and a seed planting session. Participants also had the opportunity to earn the coveted title of Compost Champion in a highly dramatic compost-sieving competition.
Upstairs, the Puppetry workshop welcomed another delighted audience to watch scenes from their much-loved adaptation of Where the Wild Things Are. Performer Linda Chan commented that she was so happy to be able to share the work with more people.
The Canteen was lively with conversation, as people shared a delicious lunch with friends and family. The team had been busy making hearty soups, three varieties of scone, and a heaping display of sweet treats including a delicious rocky road that was enjoyed by two Media workshop reporters and so gets a special mention here.
Thank you to everyone at Waterside who worked so hard to put on a beautiful event for the community. We’ll be back soon!
