Ring of fire at Orwell Arts

On June 24th, we gathered at Orwell Arts to celebrate Midsummer.

The festivities began with a lively performance from the Music Group, who treated us to a groovy blues all about homegrown and bells.

Next, we enjoyed a relaxing, guided yoga session by Fiona, where we practised seated sun salutations. Everyone joined in, and the calm energy brought a lovely balance to the afternoon.

Then it was time to test our knowledge with a summer-themed quiz by a member from Media Team, Dhaoud. His questions that kept us all thinking and laughing.

After that, we gathered around a fire pit. The challenge was to light a fire the old-fashioned way—no matches, no lighters! Using a stick, a rope, and plenty of teamwork, we pushed, pulled, and coaxed smoke into flame. After much effort and anticipation, the fire caught. The moment was met with cheers, laughter, and a well-deserved round of applause.

To close the celebration, the Music Group returned for one final song, leaving everyone in high spirits. It was a lovely afternoon, full of laughter, and a wonderful sense of community.
