Glory, glory, Garvald Bakers!

Earlier this month, the Garvald Bakers headed to the Scottish Bread Championships. Tom, Simon, Sophia and Patrick took the bakery van up to Fife to represent the team. The Thursday and Friday members had made some beautiful loaves and oatcakes, sent off for judging on Friday morning.

The competition was held at Bowhouse, a big market hall and food hub in St Monan’s. It was a lovely day. The Bakers found their loaves in a display of over 200 entries. Claire, a member from the Bakery, was also at the competition and went up on stage with Tom to collect a gold and two silvers.

Tom, Bakery Workshop Leader, says, “It was amazing to see our work alongside all of the other bread makers in Scotland. Everybody involved should be very proud.”
