Gorgie Workshops Celebrate Summer

Last weekend, Gorgie Workshops opened its doors to celebrate all the wonderful things that happen in the building.

The workshops pulled out all the stops to make people feel welcome and inspired to create. Visitors made beautiful posies in the Garden workshop, candlestick holders in the Joinery, beads in the Woodwork, and were able to try their hand at using a restored Singer sewing machine in the Tools. They also had the chance to see the Bakery in action, in all its oatcake-making glory!

Of course, the hardworking Confectionery and Canteen made sure everybody was well-fed, with soups, scones and spinach feta pies. Delicious!

The atmosphere was so easy and light, and seeing everybody walking around with vibrant handmade posies made the occasion feel all the more festive.
