A Very Collaborative Bench

Last week, the Joinery workshop were very happy to welcome two wonderful upholsterers from James Aird Soft Furnishings for a visit to Gorgie Workshops. James and Jamie had been very kind and helpful to the workshop in the past, providing advice and materials for the group when they were learning to upholster some of their products.

Last week’s visit was extra special, however, as they came in to give Joinery member Elizabeth a masterclass in upholstery. Elizabeth had made a beautiful yew bench and had asked Caroline from the Textiles workshop at Mayfield House to weave some fabric for the top. We think that Elizabeth and Caroline's hard work looks great together.
